Too many shops are sporting their autumn clothes and its still July! I celebrate summer by presenting these amazing Damien Hirst art works, alongside a lovely Vintage Hermes scarf, called “Farandole” from Nina Polli Vintage Shop. Enjoy the sun and butterflies!
I would argue that Madeleine Vionnet was both artist and designer. Below are two beautiful bags which I feel encapsulate the quality and elegance of the late 1930’s and 1940’s…
A beautiful real crocodile 1940’s handbag, and a gorgeous chocolate brown corde clutch bag with original mirror and purse, both immaculate condition. See more of these at Nina Polli Vintage Shop.
Inspired by Antonio Marras’s sketchbook, I found these beautiful fashion drawings by illustrator Deanna Staffo. They make me want to draw again! Perhaps I could illustrate some of the things in the shop, could be interesting…watch this space, might even post some of my drawings from before..
Oh by the way, some nice Chanel pieces coming soon : )
So we are entering the height of summer and safe to say nautical never goes out of fashion. Above is a dress from Chanel Resort Collection 2010 and a gorgeous Manush jacket…
Then my new favourite designer which I will share more of soon! Antonio Marras Spring/Summer 2010..
I found this A-MA-ZING gold plated Christion Dior necklace in immaculate condition, a three strand necklace each a different size, with an anchor pendant attached.

Inspired by these beautiful Japanese woodblock prints, I found an amazing Givenchy, 100% silk scarf, with hand rolled edges. I love the design, much simpler and almost tribal compared to The Japanese prints, but I love how the theme is so similar… women with parasol under a tree…
This one could be yours… click here x
Apparently, according to this weeks Grazia, a ‘new’ trend is born. Headscarves! Bali Barret, art director of Hermès’ silks stated: “The headscarf is intimate, personal, an accessory you have a relationship with, in the way a woman doesn’t even have with a pair of shoes. It’s very feminine, textural, carries your fragrance, allows you to wear colours and patterns that you might not dream of wearing in your clothes. Its association with style icons makes it almost mythical.”
Here are some of my favourite Hermes scarves that have been in the shop recently:
Always new scarves coming… have a look here! Love Nina x
Last night I saw the most beautiful ballet, it was by The Mikhailovesky Ballet. It was a Triple Bill, but the second act was called IN A MINOR KEY, by choreographer Slava Samodurov. It was utterly spellbinding and the dancers were out of this world!
I couldn’t find any images of this ballet to share so instead I discovered these images and videos of something similar and utterly captivating: Nederlands Dans Theatre dancing Petite Mort by Jiri Kylian.
Love from Nina x
