Chanel Present and Past

Posted in Bags, Costume Jewelry, Shows by ninapolli on June 22, 2011

These beautiful images are from the presentation of the Paris-Byzance Collection in Istanbul. You can view more of these beautiful images here. Below are two new pieces, just arrived in Nina Polli Vintage. The thing I love about Chanel is the timeless beauty, these pieces would have fitted perfectly in the Paris-Byzance show, yet thirty years has passed!

Chanel Fall/Winter 2011 and below two new vintage Chanel bags just arrived at Nina Polli Vintage!

Erin O’Connor

Posted in Bags, Costume Jewelry, Editorial, Inspiration by ninapolli on February 25, 2011

I never fully understood the appeal of Erin O’Connor until I watched the Chanel 4 documentary ‘This Model Life’.  She has the most grace and elegance I have seen on a model and I dont think any model can show couture as she does. She reminds me of the great ballerina Sylvie Guillem, another of my favourites. I think If I were to ask her to model any of the pieces in Nina Polli Vintage, it would be the ones below… Chanel necklace bold and beautiful, just like Erin and amazing crocodile handbag.

I couldn’t resist posting these images from the Chanel Haute Couture show today in Paris. These dresses are so amazing, I cant wait to take a closer look…

And below are two of the recent Chanel items to arrive in Nina Polli Vintage Shop.

Nan Goldin Reflections

Posted in Bags, Editorial, Photos by ninapolli on December 5, 2010

I have long been a fan of Nan Goldin’s photography, her breathtakingly honest photographs blur the boundaries between art and photography. Seeing her making more and more of a mark on the world of fashion, is so inspring, her gritty realism attaining a softer edge in the process. Above is a gorgeous campaign for Bottega Veneta SS 2010, a recent campaign with Erin Wasson, an editorial with Lara Stone for French Vogue Feb 2010 (styled by Anastasia Barbieri) and finally one of her non fashion photos.

Below is the most gorgeous vintage Bottega Veneta bag from Nina Polli Vintage Shop.

‘Designers make dresses, artists make dreams’ – Madeleine Vionnet

Posted in Bags, Inspiration by ninapolli on July 30, 2010

I would argue that Madeleine Vionnet was both artist and designer. Below are two beautiful bags which I feel encapsulate the quality and elegance of the late 1930’s and 1940’s…

A beautiful real crocodile 1940’s handbag, and a gorgeous chocolate brown corde clutch bag with original mirror and purse, both immaculate condition. See more of these at Nina Polli Vintage Shop.
